Cory Hopkins has been working with Michael Leeds since the spring of 2012.  An honors graduate from The University of Tampa, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance and International Business, Mr. Hopkins began his career at Innovest Capital, a real estate private equity firm owned by Kuwaiti investment bank, Gulf Investment House.  While at Innovest, Mr. Hopkins worked on the production team responsible for investing equity capital from multiple private equity real estate Funds through programmatic joint venture partnerships with regional and national developers.  Mr. Hopkins’ real estate background extends across several asset classes including retail, multi-family, commercial, and hospitality.

In 2012, Mr. Hopkins relocated to Tampa, FL to work with Mr. Leeds and one of his partners, focusing on the development of single tenant retail projects in west and central Florida.  Retailers with whom Mr. Hopkins worked include Wawa, Publix, Advance Auto, Pep Boys, Chase Bank, and other QSR concepts.

At Shagbark Properties, Mr. Hopkins is integrally involved in all projects, and all scopes of work associated with each.  He resides in St. Petersburg and enjoys participating in community volunteering events and recreational athletics, and is an active participant in the International Council of Shopping Centers.
